Visiting Professor for Political Science

GENERAL SUMMARY:

 

The primary duties for this position are to teach two classes in American government each semester as well as two upper-level political science courses depending on the needs of the University and the relevant semester.

This position is for the 24/25 Academic year

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Duties include lecturing and facilitating learning in the classroom, grading student work, submitting grades, holding office hours, advising students, serving on committees, and engaging in other day-to-day operations of faculty members. 

 

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:             

 

Master’s degree in political science or related field is required, and a PhD in political science is preferred.

Must be able to speak in front of students in a clear and loud voice

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Standing for 50 to 75 minutes in classroom setting

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and administration. Familiarity with Canvas and Microsoft Office products.
